Acquisition windows

Acquisition windows handle acquisition parameters and receive data from detectors. Data can be streamed to a Data document, which can be saved, but acquisition windows themselves do not store or contain data.

There are currently two types of acquisition windows depending on the type of detector used:

• Spectral acquisition produces multiple simultaneous data points with single acquisition.
• Serial acquisition produces one or few, relatively unrelated data points at a time.

Structure and layout of an Acquisition window depends on where it is for Spectral or Serial acquisition.

Specific parameters at each step vary between Spectral and Serial acquisition modes and, of course, between specific hardware. Overall acquisition cycle, however, has the same structure described here. Visual organization of user interface is similar as well. It is described in more details for spectral acquisition.
