Single mode of Spectral Aquisition

Single mode acquires a single spectrum and stores it in a document. A single spectrum is one complete cycle, including one or more complete Detector acquisition cycles repeated number of times specified by Integration.

Operation of Single mode is similar to Monitor mode except that data are streamed to Destination document.

Time

Time dimension has no real meaning in Single acquisition, although time parameter of the spectrum is set to half the time it took to acquire the spectrum. The real time that acquisition took is saved in the document information header.

Total duration of Single acquisition is defined by Detector and Integration parameters, not the duration value.

Parameters

Single acquisition mode use static initial values. It will not apply such dynamic factors as increasing in cycle duration, delays etc.

Hardware

Monitor mode does not use any hardware other than probe light Shutter

Data Flow

Data acquired in Single mode are processed as specified in Processing tab, then saved to a document specified by Destination tab. Single acquisition will not be started unless Destination specifies a valid document.

Data are optionally displayed per Display options tab, data displayed may be different from data saved if Display options specify that.

Notes

Closely related to Single acquisition are measurements of Dark and White light in Processing, which are essentially identical to Single acquisition except that data are stored internally instead of being fed into a separate document.
